Leading Online Marketing Ideas To Expand Your Business - Self ...

Posted by Sawyer Lunthmoreland on Jan 24, 2013 in Internet Marketing |

Internet marketing is the promotion of products over the internet. It easily brings together the creative aspects of the internet with the technical. This will bring a rise in sales to companies that put time into it. You will be reading many tips that will help you develop internet marketing for your company.

To create a quality newsletter, you need to write educational content. Your goal is to provide interesting information to your audience. Mention your products into your educational content, write informative texts about the products themselves, or explain how your product can have an educational use. Remember that people subscribed to your newsletter to learn something.

An important tip regarding Internet marketing is that if want to expand globally, you need to think globally. This is important because in order to best cater to people from other countries, you may wish to consider making changes to your site if it contains cultural sensitivities or humor intended solely for Americans.

It?s important that if you?re linking on someone else?s site for internet marketing that you make sure your link is a ?do-follow? link. You can click the page source of any link and look at the HTML. Unless it specifically says something to extent of ?do not follow," you know you?re safe here. Always be sure to check this.

Use forums to gain readers. Posting a teaser paragraph in several different forums can get people?s attention very quickly. The best way to do this is to find the forums that your target audiences frequent the most, and post it there. Make sure the paragraph is enticing and entertaining to gain the most.

Whether you?re allowing comments on your blog or website, you?re always going to run across a few jerks when running a business. Make sure you never reply to the buffoons of the world. Simply delete their comments and get on with your day. Do not appear childish by engaging in a back-and-forth with idiots.

When starting an online business, find a niche and become the authority on that product. For example, instead of selling shoes, sell extra wide shoes for men. While you narrow your playing field, you bring in traffic that has difficulty finding your product through other avenues, increasing your chances of making a sale. In addition, your business will be easier to find online because of your detailed key phrases. Try entering a search for ?shoes" and then enter a search for ?men?s extra wide shoes" and see what a difference a niche can make.

Internet marketing is often seen through banner ads, but these are not highly recommended. Do not invest much of your resources in banner ads if you want to successfully market your products or services online. Banner ads are increasingly being blocked with extensions in browsers, effectively deleting your ads from sites.

Creating a site map is very helpful for both search engines and visitors. It will help to find all of your pages, especially if you have a larger site. There are free tools that will help you create XML sitemaps, which are used by the major search engines to index webpages accurately.

Keeping yourself motivated is an important part of internet marketing and it is hard to keep your enthusiasm up if you keep jumping from project to project. Try sticking with just one project and stay with it until you see positive results. It may take some discipline, but it will be worth the effort.

When you concentrate on improving your internet marketing efforts, you are making excellent use of your valuable time. The marketplace accessible online is the largest in the world, and the potential customer base is incredibly vast. Reading articles like this one can pay off in a big way when you pick up useful new internet marketing tips.

Check out this additional training on Finding Profits Through Successful Internet Marketing Ideas. While you?re at it check out the many other resources that discuss Internet Marketing Strategies That Are Sure To Help Your Business Grow.

Clay Guida has a high school wrestling meet to coach before fighting at UFC on Fox 6

CHICAGO -- Clay Guida will take on Hatsu Hioki on Saturday's UFC on Fox 6 card. It will mark Guida's first fight at featherweight, but before the bout and weigh-ins, he has another match on his mind.

Montini Catholic's wrestling team will face the Oak Park River Forest Huskies, and Guida will be matside to coach. He wrestled in high school and was part of a junior college national championship team at Harper College in suburban Chicago.

"I got a big wrestling meet tonight with the team I help coach, Montini Catholic at Oak Park-River Forest. We're no. 1, going for our sixth-straight state title. I believe they're no. 1 ranked in 3A, no. 2 in the state. Two top-10 teams in the nation."

Guida's longtime wrestling coach, Izzy Martinez, coaches at Montini, and he's brought fighters like Guida in to help his team. Guida's fight taking place in his hometown of Chicago days after Montini's biggest dual meet is lucky scheduling because it allows Guida to be at the meet. Working with the high school wrestlers gives Guida inspiration.

"It's a huge part of my training. These kids motivate me," Guida said during open workouts.

Guida says this fight is a new start for him. He was criticized by UFC president Dana White and fans for the loss to Gray Maynard for a safe fight strategy. Guida says that fight is behind him.

"You're going to see a more energetic, revamped Clay Guida. Educated fight fans see the strides I have made. I believe I'm one of the most improved lightweights, and soon to be featherweights, in the UFC. You see my striking. I outstruck Gray, I outgrappled Gray. I beat him everywhere except on the judges' scorecards. I'm beyond that now. It was a learning experience, and Hatsu Hioki is going to pay for it."

But before he gets in the cage with Hioki, it's the Montini Broncos' turn to perform, and Guida will be there coaching them on.

UN set to condemn North Korea's rocket launch

UNITED NATIONS (AP) ? The U.N. Security Council was set to vote Tuesday on a resolution condemning North Korea's rocket launch in December that sent a satellite into orbit.

A diplomat, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the draft resolution reiterates the council's previous demand that North Korea abandon its nuclear weapons program and not proceed with further launches.

The resolution would be the first in four years to expand the sanctions regime on North Korea. Washington negotiated with Beijing over the weekend to adopt a compromise on a resolution.

China's agreement to join a resolution is a step away from the protection it usually gives to North Korea, its neighbor, which it defended in the Korean War in the early 1950s against U.S.-led U.N. troops.

China is seen as North Korea's closest ally, and its protection of North Korea meant that the Security Council previously denounced North Korea's launches with non-binding council statements, which are unenforceable.

North Korea sent a satellite into space on Dec. 12 aboard a long-range rocket, a launch that the U.S. and its allies have criticized as a test of banned ballistic missile technology. In 2006 and 2009, Pyongyang conducted atomic tests after being slapped with Security Council condemnation and sanctions for similar launches of long-range rockets.

Security Council resolutions ban North Korea from any use of ballistic missile technology, even if characterized as a satellite launch or space launch vehicle.

The diplomat said the draft resolution imposes new sanctions under existing authorities on North Korean companies and government agencies, including North Korea's space agency and several individuals.

The resolution also updates lists of nuclear and ballistic missile technology banned for transfer to and from North Korea and includes several new provisions targeting North Korea's smuggling of sensitive items that could contribute to the prohibited programs.

Russian Ambassador to the U.N. Vitaly Churkin has said Moscow is ready to support the new resolution. "I don't expect the U.N. Security Council members will have any serious problems" with the text, Churkin told Russia's RIA Novosti news agency.

In its talks with China, the U.S. had to agree that the resolution would not bring in new forms of sanctions but would build on the existing Security Council sanction regimes.

On Monday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei confirmed that "China took part recently in the relevant discussions at the U.N. Security Council."

"China has stated its position many times on North Korea's launching a satellite," he said. "We said it was to be regretted that North Korea launched the missile despite the global community's concern."

It is believed that China may have been willing to join the new resolution because satellite surveillance has shown activity at North Korea's nuclear blast test sites suggesting another atomic test may be imminent.

North Korea vowed last week to strengthen its defenses amid concerns the country may conduct a nuclear test as a follow-up to last month's rocket launch.

Citing U.S. hostility, Pyongyang's Foreign Ministry said in a memorandum that North Korea will "continue to strengthen its deterrence against all forms of war."

The memorandum carried by state media did not say what action North Korea would take to defend itself. However, North Korea has claimed the right to build atomic weapons to protect itself from the United States, which stations more than 28,000 troops in South Korea.

In Second Inaugural, Obama Makes Climate A Priority

"We will respond to the threat of climate change, knowing that the failure to do so would betray our children and future generations," President Obama said Monday during his second inaugural address.

"We will respond to the threat of climate change, knowing that the failure to do so would betray our children and future generations," President Obama said Monday during his second inaugural address.

President Obama pulled out a surprise in his inaugural address on Monday. After barely mentioning climate change in his campaign, he put it on his short list of priorities for his second term.

"We will respond to the threat of climate change, knowing that the failure to do so would betray our children and future generations," he said. Today the White House had scant detail on what the president plans to do.

But his rhetoric was music to the ears of some environmental leaders, including Frances Beinecke, president of the Natural Resources Defense Council, who was listening to the president's speech while standing behind him on the platform at Capitol.

"When I heard the president make that statement, I let out a shout because I was so excited," she says. Beinecke said the president made a strong case that the droughts, forest fires and superstorms of 2012 compel action.

"He recognized that climate change is a problem of now. It's not a problem of the future," she says.

At the White House today, spokesman Jay Carney refused to give any detail about what new plans the president has to fight climate change.

"I'm not going to speculate for you about future actions," he said. "The president made clear that he believes it's a priority. He has a record already of historic accomplishments in this area. But more needs to be done."

Although Carney wouldn't say it, former White House officials, environmental leaders and representatives of electricity industry all believe they know what the president has in mind.

He's already reduced the greenhouse gases that come from cars. Now they expect that he'll use the Environmental Protection Agency to ramp up his efforts to reduce greenhouse gases from power plants. The EPA already proposed a rule that would make it virtually impossible to build new coal-fired power plants.

Carol Browner, a former EPA chief and former assistant to President Obama, says next the agency will use its authority to reduce greenhouse gas pollution from existing power plants.

"Yes, people should expect it," she says. "It is a very important tool that the president has available to him."

Quin Shea, a vice president for environment at the Edison Electric Institute, the industry's trade group, says electric companies are expecting this.

"We're definitely ready to engage," Shea says. He says electric companies are already reducing their greenhouse gas emissions. That's in large part due to a big shift from coal to cheaper natural gas.

The coming months are not likely to be a love fest between the president and environmental groups because of an upcoming decision on the Keystone XL pipeline.

The pipeline would carry tar sands oil from Canada to U.S. refineries. It takes so much energy to produce this heavy oil that it has a larger greenhouse gas footprint. And on Tuesday, Nebraska's government gave its go-ahead to the massive pipeline. Now, environmental groups fear the president will approve the Keystone XL.

"We can't expand production of the dirtiest source of oil on the planet if we want to reduce carbon pollution," says Michael Brune, executive director of the Sierra Club. He says the nation's oldest and largest environmental group is so worried that the president will give his OK, that it's planning to make an exception to its historic ban on participating in acts of civil disobedience. That means they're going to try to get arrested at an upcoming protest.

"That the Sierra Club is willing to engage in thoughtful and peaceful and respectful civil disobedience shows that there's a new level of urgency regarding climate change, and a growing impatience about the lack of political courage that we're seeing from the president and from leaders in Congress," Brune says.

He says civil disobedience helped women get the vote and African-Americans get equal rights. He hopes this move will turn up the pressure on President Obama to follow through with his rhetoric and make hard decisions to fight global warming.

Co-owner Ron Tutor sells his stake in Miramax

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - Construction billionaire Ron Tutor has sold his minority stake in the Miramax film library to co-owner Qatar Investment Authority, a person with knowledge of the deal told TheWrap on Monday.

Tutor, QIA and Tom Barrack's Colony Capital bought the library for $663 million from Disney in 2010, beating out a group headed by former Miramax chiefs Bob and Harvey Weinstein and backed by supermarket mogul Ron Burkle.

Since then, Miramax has made a series of distribution deals and licensed films from its library - including "Pulp Fiction" and "The English Patient" - to Netflix, Hulu, Love Films and Net Movies. It also sealed several deals for DVD and Blu-Ray distribution. But by design Miramax has not developed or produced any films, banking instead on its ability to leverage its library assets.

Miramax's future has been uncertain since chief CEO Mike Lang stepped down last year, after Colony failed in a bid to acquire Summit Entertainment and merge it with Miramax. Steve Schoch has served as interim chief executive since Lang's exit.

In an interview with TheWrap in 2011, Richard Nanula, a principal at Colony Capital, insisted the library was the key to the company's business.

Tutor, who is chief executive at the construction company Tutor-Perini, did not return calls for comment Monday. Neither did Colony Capital or QIA.
