DENVER (AP) ? Colorado officials monitoring a prescribed burn apparently didn't request updated weather forecasts for the area for three days before it erupted into a deadly wildfire.

Records released Wednesday show the National Weather Service issued forecasts at the request of the Colorado State Forest Service immediately before and after the March 22 prescribed burn.

The records show the next time the forest service requested a forecast was more than an hour after the prescribed burn had jumped its perimeter on March 26.

The forecast issued immediately after the prescribed burn covered three days and called for wind gusts up to 22 mph before noon on the day the wildfire erupted.

Officials believe three people were killed.

State Forest Service officials declined to comment, citing the external investigation ordered by the governor.
