The final tax calculations are done and the average Somerville residential tax bill is going up $443.09 said council member Dennis Sullivan, the finance committee chairman.
Somerville?s average home is valued at $278,725 and will now pay $8,738.03 in real estate taxes.
The new rate is $3.135 per $100 valuation.
The average bill breaks down to $4,997.54 for schools, $2,661.82 for borough government, $846.05 for the county, $125.43 for the library and $89.19 for open space.
Sullivan said the tax bills will be coming out later than the Aug. 1 deadline because the state aid numbers came late and the deadline will be extended by a week to Aug. 17 for those who pay their property taxes directly. Interest on late payments?made after August 17?will be calculated from the due date of August 1.
